Some myths and facts about acne.

Myth 1
Eating fast food causes acne.

Reality
In fact, no particular foods are proven to cause acne. However, we need more research, and, discovering a dietary way of preventing acne may be a future reality.

Myth 2
Adults don’t get acne.

Reality
It is true that acne affects teenagers more often, but adults are not exempt from pimples and breakouts. Adult acne can be caused by stress, changes in hormone levels, some cosmetic products, and dry skin, etc.

Myth 3
Acne can be relieved by washing your face more.

Reality
Over-wash your face will only irritate and dry out the skin, thus worsen the acne. Also,
acne cannot be caused by bacteria on the surface of your face, but by bacteria deep inside the pores, which cannot be removed simply by washing.

Myth 4
Acne disappear by simply popping those pimples.

Reality
Popping the pimples provides some temporary pleasure, and decrease acne’s appearance at first, but it doesn’t actually make the acne go away. Not only do you run the risk of scarring if you pick at or pop your pimples, but you can also worsen the blemish and make it last longer on your face than it would originally have stayed. Popping must be performed correctly to achieve the best result. Also, it is vital that popping never be combined with picking of the skin.

Myth 5
There’s no cure for acne, you just have to wait and let acne go away with time.

Reality
Ignoring the presence of acne can worsen the skin condition. Choosing the right treatment is essential. DermaMed™ Acne Wash with Green Tea Extract removes debris, impurities and excess sebum and imparts a clean, refreshing sensation to your face. It also helps prevent new acne from forming.
